Tragopogon orientalis is a herbaceous biennial plant in the Asteraceae family. It can reach 40 cm in height with flowers of 5-8 cm. The native range is temperate Eurasia. Other Tragopogon species have identified ethnobotanical uses, primarily for treating wounds, kidney and liver disfunction, gastrointestinal issues, and fatigue and anoxia. These uses are primarily recorded in Central and Western Asia.
