Lilium pumilum (Mong. Odol saraana, Eng. Low lily or Coral lily) is a perennial herb and bulbous geophyte. The 3-4 cm ovate bulb is edible and eaten as a tuber in Mongolia. Its range includes East Asia, from eastern China to Siberia. The flower is used to increase urination and phlegm, to treat wounds and for menorrhagia, as well as in a few traditional prescriptions. The infusion made from the flower has been shown to be anti-inflammatory and spasmolytic, particularly in treating toxic hepatitis.
