Androsace septentrionalis

Family: Primulaceae

Mongolian name:

English name: Pygmyflower rockjasmine

Collection Number: 20

Androsace septentrionalis is an annual herbaceous plant native to the northern temperate hemisphere. It is used in traditional Siberian medicine as a contraceptive, and to treat angina, heart issues, epilepsy, and gonorrhea. Studies in mice models indicate that extracts do disturb the menstrual cycle and implementation of eggs after copulation, in part by increasing the corpora lutea in fallopian tubes of treated animals. Other reported traditional uses include as a numbing effect for internal pain, and for protection from witches in a lotion.
